Dave Suder
Keyboards and Vocals

Dave Suder grew up in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He started piano lessons at age five and guitar lessons at age eleven. By age twelve he was playing keyboard in garage bands, and by fourteen years of age had formed a band called The Reflections, which started playing paying gigs including parties, weddings, and bars. Dave’s father Arnold (a keyboard player in a band of his own) helped the young lads learn “old people music”, so that the band could satisfy the depression era parents of the bride and groom, and at the same time play the rock and roll of the 60’s and 70’s that the young folks wanted to hear. The band members were all around the same age, so their parents took turns driving them and their instruments to the gigs until they reached age sixteen and were able to drive themselves. During college Dave continued playing in a lounge band every weekend in lounges and restaurants in and around Philadelphia, as this was the best way to earn money while in college. After graduating optometry school, Dave loaded up a U-Haul and moved to San Diego to set up his eye practice. After a few years the music bug bit again and he was playing with “Harvey and the 52nd Steet Jive” at venues like Fat City and Seaport Village on Sundays, and later with a nine piece horn band called “Chicago, Sweat and Tears”.
After his two children were born it became apparent that playing on all those weekends, working six days a week in his optometry offices, and spending time with family could not coexist, so Dave quit the business vowing to return when the kids were older.
A few years back the two kids started college, and Dave was once again free to pursue his love of music. After a few false starts with several local bands, he and Laguna found each other, and he officially joined the band in the winter of 2010.
Dave enjoys SCUBA diving, snow skiing, boating and waverunners, and plays nine ball in the local billiards league.
